START the New Year with a bang.
Tonight sees two local bands take the stage at the Tudor.
Wigan Music Collective has arranged a top night of entertainment to banish those January blues.
Take a seat in the friendly, cosy surroundings and be blasted with some Led Zeppelin-style rock music that will certainly warm your cockles.
Prairie Dogs will perform under their new title.
Formerly Chaos Theory, the band is made up of Jonny Youle on vocals and rhythm guitar, Chris Farron on lead guitar and backing vocals, Chris Darby on bass guitar and backing vocals and Sam Evans on drums.
The Wigan lads have just finished recording an EP, and will use tonight’s opportunity to showcase their new tracks.
They will rock the pub from 10.30pm.
Building you up for a night to remember is Frank’s Wild Years.
Mashing up blues, rock and grunge sounds, the unsigned trio take their name from a Tom Waits album.
They are Michael Barrow on lead vocals, guitar and bass, Chris Gaskell on guitar and bass and Tom Barrow on drums and percussion.
Neil Jarvis of Wigan Music Collective, said: “Prairie Dogs play riff-driven rock in the vein of Muse and Thrice, combining big riffs and melodic vocal lines.
“Frank’s Wild Years take inspiration from the Black Keys, BRMC and Led Zeppelin. They are also playing the Ram and Shackle in Manchester on January 16.”
Frank’s Wild Years will appear on stage from 9.30pm.
Free entry as usual.
