Street Games project for estates

An EXCITING 10-week programme of Street Games, bringing free multi-sports activities to young people around the borough, kicks off on Monday.

Taking place at 10 different locations, it will culminate in Wigan’s own Olympic event at Robin Park Arena on August 17. Organised by Wigan and Leigh Housing and Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, the sessions aim to make activities more accessible for young people on our estates. Activities include athletics, cricket, volleyball, dodgeball, tag rugby, football, rounders and dance.

WLCT’s Chris Essex-Crosby said: “Whatever activity you love – or would love to try – this is your chance to have a go. The project means young people won’t get chance to be bored this summer.”
