THE act everyone was talking about in this year’s X Factor – Wagner Carrilho – is coming to Wigan.
The quirky Brazilian-born singer, who was voted off the ITV reality show in week eight, will entertain crowds at Jumpin Jaks next month.
He will meet and greet fans and perform a stage show with four or five songs on Friday January 28.
Adrian Emmett, general manager at Jumpin Jaks, in King Street, expects the night to be huge.
He said: “I specifically requested Wagner, as there was a lot of interest through social media groups and our customers.
“Wagner has something extra, and even his X Factor mentor, Louis Walsh, said on the show that he was not the best singer, but the best entertainer – and that is what we want.
“The reaction we have had so far through Facebook is that people either passionately hate him and vow to stay away, or passionately love him and will come.
“They say they can’t believe he is coming to Wigan, and some have even booked time off work. It is the best reaction we have had to any act for a long time.”
Previous media reports have said Wagner has attracted a lot of female attention, causing a stampede at a London restaurant last month.
Adrian added: “We are expecting it to be a sell-out.
“I think there is going to be a frenzy, and we are having extra security.
“This is going to be good for Wigan, as it will attract more people.
“People should book tickets in advance, because it is going to be a sell-out.”
Adrian admitted he was a huge Wagner fan, and was disappointed when he was voted out.
He said: “I think he should have won as he is the most entertaining, but him being voted off early meant we could book him.
“The final four acts are too big for us to book.”
Doors open for the gig at 10pm, with the show kicking off with dancers at 11pm.
