The pie was the limit in Wigan as the borough's second Food and Drink Festival paid homage to the town's favourite dish.
Celebrity Lancashire chef Tom Bridge cooked up a storm with a day dedicated to the humble pie.
He showed people how to make the perfect three-course pie dinner as part of Wigan's Outdoor Market Kitchen Theatre.
And he presented a special Victorian three-layer cheese pie that took seven and a half hours to prepare and cook!
Starting with a roast dinner pie, Tom then created the ultimate three-course pie dinner: a Lancashire tartlet starter followed by local game, white onion and thyme pie main course, followed by blackberry and meringue pie.
His three-layer cheese pie, made from an 1861 recipe, was also on display.
The organiser of the Food Festival, Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust's Keith Bergman, said: "Wigan is moving forward when it comes to food and drink, but we haven't lost touch with our culinary heritage.
"This was a day dedicated to the humble pie, but with a difference.
"It was all unique with the emphasis on quality and creativity."
Wigan Outdoor Market Kitchen Theatre started on Monday and runs until Saturday.
Each day, visitors to the courtyard in the town centre can experience scores of different interactive events.
