Sepcially designed first aid courses for Wigan bikers have been launched by the North West Ambulance Service.
Being the First Bike on Scene (FBoS) with first aid skills applicable to motorcycles can be invaluable in helping a rider's chances of survival, says the service's commercial training department.
It teaches relevant skills such as managing the sce
ne of an accident and knowing when and how to remove a helmet.
It also gives practical instruction on basic life support that will help to maintain a casualty until the arrival of the paramedics.
The one-day course, which is approved by the Royal College of Surgeons, will be available at their Liverpool and Preston locations.
Spaces are still available and courses start on Saturday, September 13 in Preston with others on October 11, November 22 and December 13. The Liverpool course is on Saturday October 4.
Alternatively, if you have a suitable venue and over six delegates, the North West Ambulance Service's Commercial Training Department will provide an instructor for you within any area of the North West.
Courses cost £62.
