A RESIDENTIAL home in Wigan has been awarded the full five-star rating for its standard of care.
Mahogany Care Home, in Marsden Street, Newtown, achieved the rating from the RDB (Residential and Domiciliary Benchmark) Star Rating company.

The nursing and residential care home, part of the Mimosa Healthcare Group, won the Mimosa Award at a special ceremony at Haigh Hall.

The award, given in conjunction with Wigan Council, aims to promote and help the delivery of excellent care and to encourage and recognise quality providers.

Anthony Massouras, chief executive of Mimosa said: "This is a fantastic achievement for Mahogany and ultimately for Mimosa.

"It shows that what the company offers is amongst the best in the country. It also goes a long way to prove what the company ethos of working as a team and providing some of the best training in the sector means for the people who live in a Mimosa home."

"The RDB five star award recognises the innovative approach the company is taking towards creating top quality homes throughout the group and the award to Mahogany is well-merited."
