Outspoken George Galloway is coming back to Wigan - the controversial MP arrives at Atherton's Decibel Club in Market Street on Tuesday February 19.
Last year he enthused a Wigan Stop The War Coalition meeting at the Pier's Orwell with his distinctive style.
This time he will address the launch meeting of the South Lancashire branch of Respect Renewal, a new national political voice for working people which is already represented on a number of local councils across England, and via Mr Galloway, in the Houses of Parliament itself.

The new branch has declared its intention to fight for the Atherton Ward in the Metro elections in May.
Joining Mr Galloway behind the microphone will be Respect's prospective candidate, former Leigh TUC President and veteran anti-pit closure and anti unemployment campaigner Stephen Hall.

Speaking on behalf of the new branch, Mr Hall said: "We want to represent all those left behind in today's Britain, all those who feel that the gap between the 'haves' and the 'have nots' is far too wide, all those who want to see a society which cherishes and respects every single person and not just a privileged few.

"We are wanting to re-establish the representation of ordinary working people in local and national Government a role previously claimed by Labour but which has long since been abandoned by them.
"In reality, the Labour Party is now representing the interest of big business and finance capital more than it ever did the interests of those who labour by hand or by brain to earn a living."

All we need, one issue mavericks. Maybe someone can stick them with the Community Action Party and form a lunatic fringe alliance.

every time i see George Galloway I can't help but picture him in a purple leotard doing some bizarre robotics with Peter Burns, then purring like a cat and pretending to lap milk from Rula Lenska's cupped hands.
I'll take that image with me to the grave ...

As Mathi poits out, it's difficult to give Galloway any credibility after his appearance on Big Brother.
Which party does Benedict support? Sleazy Old Tory or Sleazy New Labour.
At least the Community Action Party represents local people on local issues. Issues which would, otherwis, ebe completely ignored by Wigan Council's majority party.
