A dispute has broken out between a gas company and one of its customers over a bill to repair leaks.
Ian Adamczyk, from Bradley Lane, Standish, is demanding that MD Gas Care Ltd pay a £450 bill to repair three leaks, one of which was in Ian's son's bedroom.

But the company, based in Standishgate, says it is not willing to pay the fee, claiming that is too excessive.
In January MD Gas Care installed a new boiler and heating system in Ian's home.

Ian, 28, said: "Shortly after they had finished their work I started smelling a little bit of gas around the home, but didn't think anything of it.
"But as the smell was beginning to get stronger we called out someone from MD Gas Care to take a look, but they told us there was no problem.

"We then called out someone from Transco, who told us to shut off the gas completely until the leaks could be fixed.
"MD Gas Care told us that because all of their workers were busy I would have to arrange for someone to fix the leaks, and that they would look after the bill. The company made a promise to me that they would pay for the work that had to be carried out, and now they are going back on it.

"Fixing the leaks in the front room, landing and my young son's bedroom was not an easy job and involved ripping up the floorboards.
"Now they are refusing to pay the full amount which I was charged for the job."
Mike Penman, owner of MD Gas Care, said: "We believe that £450 is simply too much for a job of this kind; it should cost no more than £200.

"We did tell Mr Adamczyk that all of our workers were too busy to fix the leaks, but did suggest that someone come to the home, out of normal hours, to deal with them.
"He said that he wanted someone to come out immediately and so arranged someone himself, with us agreeing to pay for the bill provided we felt
it reasonable.

"I have been working in this industry for 13 years and I know for a fact that this job, done properly, should cost no more than £200 which we are willing to pay.
"We carry out 300 to 400 jobs a year and never have any complaints from our customers."

Thats says it all when the previous comments made on this article have been removed. Whats wrong Mr Penman of MD Gascare, dont you like the bad publicity????? There was nothing written on here that wasnt the TRUTH!!!! Like i said if you had done your job properly in the first place none of this would be happening. I will keep dragging your name through the mud until you resolve this issue, or you have nothing left. Which ever comes first.

Oh yes, one other thing Mr Penman. I like the fact that you have said you would pay the bill " Providing we felt it reasonable"??? Those words never came out of your mouth at the time you just told me to get it fixed and you would look after the bill. See, you cant even admit when your in the wrong either. Your not to be TRUSTED.

I sympathise (if the allegations are correct) but why is this deemed newsworthy?

Also, why is it so easy on here for anyone who disagrees with a posting to remove it? Hardly free speech is it?

It is deemed newsworthy because the company in question installed a new heating system in our home, and left it in such a state that there was three seperate leaks on it. Transco deemed it too dangerous and cut off our supply until it was fixed but MD Gascare kept coming out and turning it back on saying that it was at an exeptable level........ I then, with there authorisation, found a corgi registered plumber to come out and fix it, but now they are refusing to pay the bill.

Its defo not free speech on here either, i have not wrote anything which wasnt the whole truth, but people cant accept they were wrong so i shall keep writing the comments on here.
