Ian McCartney is backing his "use it or lose it" plea to support the Post Office.
The Makerfield MP this week delivered almost 30,000 copies of his Parliamentary report which will now be delivered to constituents.

He says he has always seen it as a top priority to keep residents informed of his work in his constituency and Parliament since being elected in 1987.

And has chosen to make use of The Royal Mail's special "Boundary Match" delivery service to ensure that his newsletter will be delivered to every household in Makerfield.

Use of the Royal Mail to deliver the publication is a continuation, he says, of his 'Use it or Lose it ' campaign to encourage local people to use the Post Office and Royal Mail to boost business and prevent post office closures.

Mr McCartney said: "I strongly believe in regularly updating my constituents and telling them what I am doing in their area and that is why I am very pleased to use this innovative scheme provided by Royal Mail which will reach all the households in Makerfield.''

"I am also keen to use post office services and encourage others to do so in order to safeguard this essential service''

What a hypocrite McCartney and his fellow minister Andy Burnham share responsibility for the closure of our local post offices.

McCartney’s propaganda sheet will be paid for and delivered at the expense of the taxpayer, not from his own pocket.

It was the “The Department of Work and Pensions”, that McCartney was a Minister of before he was moved to the vague post of “Minister without portfolio” that presided over a massive reduction in post office pensions business and contributed to the demise of the post offices and the massive closures.

The brass neck arrogance of McCartney is astonishing as the above post says he is responsible for the wholesale shutdown of these important community institutions.
Not worry him though with his nice earner from Fluor as an "adviser" that rakes in over £112,000 per year on top of his MPs salary.Nice trough if you can get it.
