Food lovers flocked to a pub after it advertised a "priceless menu."
The Bulls Head in Southworth Road, Newton-le-Willows, was packed with intrigued diners who found themselves being asked to decide how much they wanted to pay for their meals!

Pub owner Gareth Hughes scrapped the prices from his menu for a night in a bid to lure more punters through the doors.
Fortunately it paid off – with a packed-out restaurant and £600 profit.

Gareth said: "It was a big relief and it was an absolutely cracking night. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we were full from 7pm to 11.30pm.
"What really shocked us was the price people were prepared to pay. In fact, they paid over the odds.

"The average per meal worked out about £15 and one couple said they enjoyed themselves so much they paid a third over what would be our usual asking price."

The dad-of-two was inspired to make the move by cult rock band Radiohead, who allowed fans to download their latest release, In Rainbows, only paying what they believed was a fair price for the album.

And Gareth was so impressed with the feedback on his food night, he plans to hold it on a regular basis.
He said: "Not only did we manage to pull in some more custom, but it has also allowed me to try some new dishes. I get to be a bit creative in the kitchen and the customers get to decide how much it's worth.
"It seems to have worked so far."

Gareth did, however, have good reason for launching his innovative night – his bid to save an ailing pub culture.
In just two years he has seen his profits halved because of rising alcohol taxes and the smoking ban.

Gareth, who has trained with gourmet chefs, currently owns The Bull's Head and The Red Lion in Lowton.
He was forced to sell his other pub, The Plough in Croft, in November after profits plunged.

He said: "People do not seem to be attracted to their locals anymore and they tend to get three bottles of wine for £10 and sit at home where they can have a smoke too.

"Last night was brilliant because it really got the social side of the local pub back up and running."
