Sisters Holly and Chloe Lam-Moores are having a ball in Denmark, honing their skills in one of the fastest growing sports in the world.
The athletic youngsters are among the stars of Great Britain's womens handball team and have moved to Aarhus to boost their chances of being amongt the best players in the world.
The British Handball Association has sent its best players to specialist handball academies in Denmark so that they can improve on their game ahead of the next Olympic Games.
Holly, 18, said: "In the UK handball is overlooked, but over here it's massive.
"It's one of the fastest growing team sports for women in Europe and the rest of the world. I moved here in January and was joined by Chloe in August.
"We're both having a great time and feel as if we are improving as players all the time."
Holly, who comes back to Lowton to visit her dad, David, whenever she can, fell in love with the sport when she was 13.
The current coach for the men's GB team, Bill Bailey, visited her secondary school in Rossendale to introduce pupils to the game.
And after joining up to her local team Holly signed up for the Lancashire and English team before she was called up for Great Britain in 2006.
A game of handball involves two teams of seven players each passing and bouncing a ball to throw it into the opposition goal. The game has goals similar to, but smaller than, football.
"I fell in love with the sport instantly," said Holly.
"It's fast, ferocious and more exciting than any other team sport around."
Holly is currently playing for Danish club SK Aarhus in the under-18s team. Chloe has yet to sign with a club since moving out to Denmark in August. But the left winger is confident that she will sign on the dotted line for a team soon.
The 16-year-old said: "It took a while for me to settle in but Holly has been great; it's nice to have my sister here with me.
"The last few months have been very chaotic for me. Once I finished my GCSEs I began training in Sheffield and then flew to Denmark in July.
"I have a much better chance of becoming a successful handball player here than in the UK."
Both Chloe and Holly will be hoping to play for Team GB at the next Olympic games.
But, as both sisters play in the same position, competition will be fierce.
Chloe said: "At the moment Holly is picked ahead of me as she has more experience, but in a few years' time you never know how it will play out.
"There is a competitive element between us, but it never gets out of control."
Holly added: "Between now and the next Olympics we hope that more people in UK take to the sport just as we have done."
