Meet one of the country's youngest mayoresses – fashion student Victoria Chadwick.
Victoria, fresh from completing a three-year degree at the London College of Fashion, is about to be inaugurated as Mayoress of Westhoughton, aged just 22.

Her dad, David, is a councillor and leader of Westhoughton Town Council, and the next Mayor.

Victoria said: "Because my mum prefers to keep behind the scenes, dad asked me to be his mayoress."

"I know it seems strange, but I'm really looking forward to my year in office.

"I've just completed my degree in fashion design and I'm more than happy to put my career on hold while I carry out my official duties."

And Victoria is planning an event that she hopes will attract younger people and supporting her chosen charity at the same time – the A&E at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
