A teenager was airlifted to hospital after he was crushed by a gate which fell on him.
The large metal structure hit the 19-year-old as he worked at the Greenbank industrial estate in Hindley Green.

He suffered back, pelvic and facial injuries at the unnamed Atherton Road premises but his condition was not said to be life-threatening.

Both an ambulance and the air ambulance were called the incident, which happened at 9.30am yesterday.

The helicopter crew was quickly on scene and paramedics were able to immobilise the patient and administer pain relief before flying him to Royal Preston Hospital in just seven minutes.

What? After reading in these pages and seeing on the news that the staff at the Royal Albert Edward Infirmary completely MISSED a broken collar bone TWICE, would you really want to be taken there?
