A teenager has died after being stabbed last night (Saturday).
A 17-year-old youth and a 44-year-old woman have been
arrested following the death of the 15-year-old in St Helens.

Merseyside Police were called to a house in Thatto Heath at 11.40pm
following reports of an altercation.

The 15-year-old, also from St Helens, appeared to have suffered from
severe stab wounds and was taken to hospital by ambulance.

However, despite the best efforts of police officers, paramedics and
hospital staff, the boy died shortly afterwards from his injuries.

The two people arrested at the scene, in Hempstead Close, are currently in police custody
and will be interviewed by detectives later today (Sunday November
22).

House to house enquiries in the area have begun and the scene has been sealed for a detailed forensic examination. A weapon has been recovered.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact St Helens
CID on 0151 777 1576 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
