Man arrested after road collision in borough

A 37-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of burglary and dangerous driving.

Police, firefighters and the ambulance service were all called to the scene on Hough Lane in Tyldesley.

Three vehicles were involved in the collision.

Police were called at around 2.55pm and arrested the man. He remained in custody for questioning on Tuesday evening.

A 45-year-old man was treated by medical staff but he was not seriously injured.

The fire service said two engines and a specialist unit from Leigh station capable of cutting someone from a vehicle were sent.

However, the technical unit was not needed.

Police say enquiries into the incident are ongoing.
