On arrival, police found Slaney “clearly under the influence of alcohol.” He had reportedly consumed five cans of lager and a small bottle of whiskey, and had called the police while rowing with his father.
While police were assessing the situation, Slaney’s father walked into the room and told his son he “could not keep threatening us in our own home”.
At this point, Slaney became angry, but turned his frustration towards the police. He pushed PC Khan into the wall before punching him in the mouth.
