Wigan man admits harassing former boss

David Davies, 39, of Norley Hall Avenue, Norley, had initially denied bombarding Hamid Rowshamzamir with calls and texts between January and May 2019 at the Yummies eatery in Skelmersdale as well as tinkering with its Facebook page to give the impression it had shut for good.

But on his latest appearance before borough magistrates he changed his plea.

The hearing was told that Davies was an ex-employee of the victim, having worked at Yummies for two months at the end of 2018.

Davies resigned for another job and left on good terms, but then afterwards came to the conclusion that his pay hadn’t been settled up properly, so he started harassing Mr Roshamzamir with phone calls and abusive messages.

In February 2019 the victim saw someone had changed the google information on his business page saying the business was permanently closed, there were bad reviews on there and the business page name had been changed to Yummies LGBTQ.

The court was told that Mr Rowshamzamir put an advert for new staff on Facebook which Davies left negative comments on.

The victim also received silent phone calls from Davies’s phone and then received more abusive messages.

The bench gave Davies a year-long community order which includes attending appointments and completing 15 days of rehabilitation activities.

A restraining order prevents any contact with Mr Rowshamzamir and going to the Sandy Lane takeaway for the next two years and he must also pay a fine, compensation, court costs and a victim services surcharge totalling £485.
