Wigan man ordered to compensate assault victim

Compensation must be paid to an assault victim, Wigan magistrates have ordered.

Damien McCarrick, 46, of Belmont Road, Hindley, admitted the assault by beating of Robert Evans on April 5 and was given a 12-month conditional discharge. He must also pay £50 recompense to Mr Evans along with court costs and a victim services surcharge bringing the total bill to £157.
