Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have arrested a woman following reports of an assault at a house in the borough.
A spokesperson for the force said officers were called to Conway Close, in the Higher Folds area of Leigh, just after 10pm on Friday (June 5).
A 50-year-old woman was found with a stab wound which police described as life-threatening. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
A 47-year-old woman has been arrested.
Officers are continuing to investigate and anyone with information should contact GMP on the non-emergency number 101 or ring independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
