Men plead not guilty in shootings probe
Anthony Stephen Sumner, 31, of Almond Brook Road, and Richard Bennett, 25, of James Square, both Standish, denied two counts of criminal damage, possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life of possessing a firearm, as well as taking a vehicle without consent when they appeared at Wigan Magistrates’ Court.
They were both remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on May 17.

Hide AdAt around 7.45am on Thursday April 14, officers were called to an address on Bradley Lane, Standish, Wigan, to reports of damage to a door believed to have been caused by a gunshot.
Officers attended and discovered damage consistent with being caused by a shotgun.
The second incident was reported at around 9.50am when officers attended a tattoo parlour on Preston Road, Standish.
Again, officers found damage to a front door of the address that was consistent with being caused by a gunshot.
It is believed that these two incidents occurred between 10pm and midnight on Wednesday April 13.
