Wigan council warn people not to use grit for private drives
Council chiefs said their teams have refilled 500 grit bins in the borough and plan to do the same on Friday (January 8).
Up to now, the council said it has used 125.5t of salt in bins, and it is asking people not to use grit for the treatment of private driveways.

Hide AdIn a tweet, the local authority said: "Please be aware our teams have refilled 500 grit bins in the borough and are planning on doing the same tomorrow. Up to now we have used 125.5t of salt in bins.
"Please also be mindful of others who might need to use them, grit is not for the treatment of private driveways."
