Overhead line damage causes rail disruption
Services running through stations between Earlestown and Manchester Oxford Road are being cancelled or diverted this morning, Sunday February 28.
Rail operator Northern said the disruption is expected to last until noon.

Hide AdOn its website, the firm said; "Due to overhead line problems all services between Manchester Oxford Road and Earlestown are cancelled until further notice, this is in both directions.
"Network Rail are already on site dealing with the fault."
The first services affected are:
- Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester Piccadilly
- Manchester Piccadilly to Liverpool Lime Street
Rail replacement services are being organised. Tickets are being accepted on the Metrolink tram service for Northern passengers between Eccles Cornbrook and Firswood - Manchester Airport - in both directions.
