VIDEO: Man Utd and England legend Bryan Robson pays Wigan school a visit

A Wigan secondary school received a very special visit in the shape of a footballing legend.

Former Manchester United and England star midfielder Bryan Robson visited Dean Trust Wigan to unveil the formal link between the school and the world-famous Old Trafford club’s foundation.

Bryan toured the classrooms at the Greenhey school relating football to subjects including science and seeing art and catering projects influenced by the beautiful game.

He then joined the youngsters at Dean Trust sporting facilities for some football and expert tips.

Robson said: “The school is going forward with good standards and beliefs and has really developed in the last few years and the Foundation is delighted with that.”

The Manchester United Foundation has been working with Dean Trust Wigan and its feeder primaries for around a year and the school is delighted to announce the full link.

Dean Trust Wigan head teacher Paul Bousfield said: “It’s really exciting for Bryan to be here. It’s great for students to meet someone at the top of their career who has so much passion and enthusiasm. We want them to know the world is bigger than Wigan and there’s so much they can achieve.”
