The 12 areas of Wigan where Covid-19 infection rates are lower than the national average

Covid-19 rates have continued to drop across Wigan borough in recent weeks.

While most areas have seen the case rate fall, according to the latest data from Public Health England, a number of areas in Wigan have dropped lower than the national average.

Currently the national average rate of infection across England is 149.2 per 100,000 of the population.

With hopes that Greater Manchester could possibly be downgraded to Tier 2 next week, this is promising news.

Below are the areas of Wigan with a lower infection rate than the national average, listed from lowest to highest (Images are for illustration purposes only).

All the areas listed were well above the national average one month ago.
