Annemarie Plas, the brain behind the Clap For Carers movement, suggested that we carry out an applause at 8pm tonight and every subsequent Thursday until the end of the pandemic.
The first round of applause took place last Thursday and was a huge success, with residents across the entire country standing in their gardens, on their balconies or even standing in their windows to show their support for NHS workers, carers and frontline workers who continue to put the health and safety of others above their own.
