Wigan NHS staff appearing in primetime TV series

Wigan Infirmary will appear in homes around the country when series four of television documentary Ambulance is broadcast.

Wigan Infirmary appeared in documentary series Ambulance

The hospital will be shown in the episode screened tonight (Thursday) on BBC1.

Filming took place at the hospital with control staff and ambulance crews from North West Ambulance Service.

Ambulance gives viewers the opportunity to see staff from both the hospital and ambulance service caring for patients and dealing with the challenges of ever increasing demand in healthcare.

Zoe Callan, executive producer for Dragonfly Productions, who made the show for the BBC, said: “The filming inside Wigan allowed us to show more of the care and dedication all NHS staff show to the patients that they help.”

Ambulance is broadcast on BBC1 at 9pm on Thursdays.
