RETRO: Wigan primary schools celebrate their centenaries in 1975

Here’s a look back at vintage photographs of Bryn St Peter’s CE Primary School, Downall Green Road and Roby Mill Primary School, both of which celebrated their centenary years in 1975.

The first entries in the school's log book in 1875. The entry for November 8th states "I, Betsey Cooke, opened this new school (St. Peter's Mission School) this morning with an attendance of 58 children."
