Piano smashing was a popular event at galas in the 1970s where an upright was demolished in the fastest possible time and the pieces had to be passed through a 9 inch hole. Here some hammer wielding lads are hard at work at St. Wilfrid's Gala, Standish, on Saturday 17th of June 1972.
Pupils of Rectory CE Primary School, Garswood, who were trying their hand and mouths at Victorian games such as bob apple for the day on Friday 19th of May 1989.
