ATHERTON actor Andy Whyment is relieved to be out of Dancing on Ice.
The 30-year-old, who plays Kirk Sutherland in Coronation Street, admitted all the training made him too thin, as he lost a stone.
He told The Sun: “My wife, Nicola, took a picture of me and said, does this look like a 30-year-old man or a 12-year-old boy?
“I eat like a pig so I don’t understand why I’ve lost so much weight.
“I think my wife wants me to put a bit of weight back on!”
Andy was voted out on his highest score — 20.5 — on Sunday night, but said he was amazed he got so far.
He said: “We’ve had a fantastic time. I’m really made up to make the final six. To get to week nine is something I never imagined and to do the roll-up was the main thing.”
But he admits it was time to leave — and he’s glad his exit was on a high.
He said: “I knew it was going to be us because we’d been bottom of the leader board.
“I’m glad it’s over if I’m honest.”
Of the five remaining skaters — Chemmy Alcott, Chico, Jennifer Ellison, Jorgie Porter and Matthew Wolfenden — Andy admitted he would like to see Jennifer win.
One of the reasons Andy went on the ITV show was to prove to fans he wasn’t like his character.
And he won’t be straight back to the soap, as he will be on the show’s tour. He said: “Corrie have been kind enough to give me five weeks off for the tour so I’ll see what happens to Kirk when I get back.”
