WEST End star Carley Stenson is asking her fellow Wiganers to jump into action and support one of her favourite charities.
The former Billinge resident is patron of J-U-M-P, which provides children experiencing life threatening health conditions with memory packages captured through photography and film.
She is calling for people to attend Jacob’s Midnight Ball at Hilton Hotel, Deansgate, Manchester, on October 25.
The Shrek star said: “Jacob Hawthorn, the inspiration behind the children’s charity died when he was three after suffering from Congenital Muscular Dystrophy. Following his passing, Jacob’s family found huge comfort in the memories they had created through photography and video and as such JUMP was founded.
“And so I’m helping a local charity promote this wonderful evening they have planned.
“As I used to work in Channel 4’s Hollyoaks and currently perform as Princess Fiona in West Ends ‘Shrek the Musical’ I feel that any profile I have could be put to good use by helping to promote this worthy cause.
“Jacob’s Moonlight Ball is intended to raise much needed funds to enable the charity to invest in the infrastructure it desperately needs to ensure every child and family has the opportunity to capture their unique memories.”
The evening will include raffle, with exciting prizes, and familiar faces will be there including Sir Alex Ferguson.
