CATHERINE Tyldesley has returned to the cobbles for filming.
The Coronation Street actress left the set in March to have baby Alfie, with fiance, personal trainer Tom Pitfield, who grew up in Standish and she resumed her role as Eva Price on Monday.
Viewers last saw her heading to France to stay with her gran after she ended her relationship with Jason Grimshaw, following interference from his brother, Todd.
and poor Jason will be devastated when she returns and instead embarks on a new relationship with newcomer Aidan Connor, played by former X Factor winner Shayne Ward.
According to The Sun, Catherine was a huge fan of Shayne when he was competing on ITV show in 2005.
A pal of the actress told the publication: “Like thousands of young girls she fell for Shayne and because he is a Manchester lad and she is a Manchester girl she loved him to bits.
“It will be an amazing dream come true for her to be pitched alongside him as a pair of lovers in Corrie.”
And perhaps Catherine, who is also a mezzo-soprano singer, might arrange a collaboration with Shayne.
A friend added: “She adored him and his singing and dreamt of doing a duet with him.”
Her return comes just a week after she flew to Cyprus to film for ITV show This Morning.
Writing for her Hello blog, she said: “It was a wonderful experience and what a beautiful country! I’ll definitely go back!”
