SKY Sports presenter Charlie Webster popped into Wigan as part of her gruelling running challenge.
After setting off on Sunday she will be running a total of 250 miles and visiting 40 football clubs across England to help raise funds for Women’s Aid, a charity that works to end violence against women and children, and support over 350 domestic and sexual violence services across the country.
The 31-year-old recently waived her right to anonymity to reveal she was sexually abused by her athletics coach at the age of 15.
The man was later sentenced to 10 years in jail and is on the sex offenders register for life.
The Sky Sports presenter is now midway through her challenge, which brought her to the DW Stadium this week.
Unfortunately it didn’t go as planned with her picking up an illness in Bolton, forcing her to drive to Wigan.
A member of her team tweeted: “Charlie ran until 2pm today on a very dodgy stomach which she’s had since the start of the challenge.
“This forced a trip to A&E where a viral gastro infection was diagnosed.
“However, Charlie is determined to go on, so is visiting all remaining clubs today by car and will be back on her feet tomorrow.
“This is just a temporary setback and the challenge goes on.”
