Daddy’s Duck Race success

A COLOURFUL flock of hundreds of ducks made their way down the Leeds-Liverpool canal for a very special charity race.

Four-year-old Corey Coggins organised Daddy’s Duck Race in memory of his late father Ric, who died of bowel cancer two years ago.

Hundreds of plastic ducks bobbed their way along a stretch of the canal at the Wigan Investment Centre, in a fun and colourful spectacle to raise money for Wigan and Leigh Hospice.

Proud mum Carrie, from Standish, said: “It’s great we’re able to hold Daddy’s Duck Race in aid of Wigan and Leigh Hospice as they provided vital care and support to Ric and our family during his illness. We have received so much support from so many people”
