WIGAN Athletic striker Chris Sang has a famous cousin - none other than Danielle Lloyd.
The model made no secret of her pride in the 17-year-old as she took to Twitter to help boost his votes for September’s League Football Education (LFE) Goal of the Month.
Chris won the title, with 800 votes for his timely finish against Port Vale, helping the team gain a 3-0 victory at Christopher Park.
She tweeted: “Please vote for my cousin to win goal of the month very proud of him.”
As Chris was announced as the winner, she posted: “He got it @SangyFootyAgent whoop well done Chris.”
And even LFE made a nod towards his celebrity support, as it posted on Twitter: “He was supported by @LaticsOfficial @MissDLloyd @jwelsh08 et al & we can confirm that Chris Sang is the #GOTM winner for Sep. Well done Chris.”
Speaking of his win, Sang said: “It’s a great feeling to be voted for by so many people and it’s great to know that the supporters are so interested in our team. The goal started from Josh Beaumont and I held the ball up to bring others into the play. I played it off to Luke Burgess, who gave it to Chris Merrie, he worked it wide to Alex Lingard, Chris continued his run into the box and I had the instinct to be in the centre of the box for the finish.”
Danielle, who was born in Liverpool, has three sons to footballer Jamie O’Hara, who she has recently split from.
