DAVID McIntosh has rubbished claims he was a drug user and cheated on ex-fiance Kelly Brook.
The former Gladiators star, aka Tornado, published an open letter following reports in The Sun newspaper that he had seen ex-girlfriend, Sarah Harper, behind Kelly’s back.
The article - which came out two days after Kelly announced their split - also had a photo which implied he was taking drugs. But he insisted it was a silly drunken pose.
David, who used to live in New Springs, said: “I viewed Sarah as a friend but that was all she was.
“Before I began dating Kelly, Sarah and I did go on a handful of nights out together but it was not on a regular basis. I was not, and am not, a drug user.
“When I began dating Kelly, out of respect to her, I cut all contact with Sarah. Unfortunately, she blackmailed me, threatening to go to the press with the drug photo. I was so afraid that I continued to stay friends. As for Sarah’s claim that I slept with her whilst with Kelly, it is untrue. Kelly is my world and, other than my son, she’s the only person I’ve ever truly cared about. Since being with Kelly, I’ve been so happy. I’m devastated that Sarah’s lies have caused Kelly to end our engagement but am even more deeply upset that the woman I thought loved me and was literally my life would not stand by me.”
Kelly, who is currently in LA, announced the split on Twitter last Friday night, posting: “It’s a sad day but I wanted to share with you that David and I are no longer engaged,”
She has deleted all pictures of him from her Instagram and has reportedly cut him from the paperback version of her autobiography Close Up.
