A TALENTED Wigan singer is setting her sights on stardom after making it through to the final of a regional talent competition.
Emma Winstanley of Standish Lower Ground will sing in the final of the north’s biggest music contest, the SoundWave Music Competition, after impressing judges in a qualifying heat.
The 23-year-old will now take to the stage in front of the judges in the final in on January 17 at Leeds o2 Academy.
She said: “I’m thrilled to have gotten so far in the competition and am really excited to play at the final as it will be the biggest audience I’ve played to.
“Getting to play this gig was what I wanted to achieve initially, so it would be amazing to win, and I’d be really honoured to, but if not I’m really happy with getting to this point.
“I’ve got some friends helping me out as a backing band so it should be a really good gig and enjoyable night.”
