WHAT’S this? Doc Brown and Marty McFly in Wigan?
You could have been forgiven for thinking so if you spotted this DeLorean whizzing about the town last week.
The fantastic, extremely rare car - made world famous by the Back To The Future trilogy - was spotted by a reader on Woodhouse Drive in Beech Hill.
And although it wasn’t one of the actual DeLoreans used in the 1985 movie, it certainly offered Wiganers a trip down memory lane.
This time, though, the magnificent machine had its wheels firmly planted on the tarmac and didn’t take to the skies (perhaps it hadn’t been fitted with a hoverconversion kit!)
But the lucky spotter swears he saw a flash and heard a sonic boom as the car accelerated away towards the 88mph needed for the flux capacitor to kick in and make time travel possible.
It was amazing. I love the Back To The Future films and to see a DeLorean virtually on my own doorstep was incredible

“It was identical to the one in the films, everyone was gawping at it. It’s a beautiful car, I don’t think there were ever that many made, and certainly none in this country.
“I wish I could go back in time and see it again!”
