KYM Marsh’s daughter has made another bid for popstardom as she has auditioned for The Voice.

Emilie Cunliffe has reportedly sailed through the blind auditions of the BBC One talent show, with, Tom Jones, Rita Ora and Ricky Wilson as judges.

The 16-year-old sung for the panel at try outs in Manchester earlier this year as Kym, who found fame with Hear’Say on ITV talent show Popstars has been coaching her daughter with extra singing lessons.

The audition will be shown in the New Year.

A source told The Sun: “She is determined to make it in the world of pop and she couldn’t have a better qualified coach than her mum, because she’s been there and done it.”

Earlier this year Emily had auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent, but her audition was cut from the show and she did not made the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, the Ashton actress has hit back at magazine columnist Chantelle Houghton who wrote that her man - Dan Hooper - was fame-hungry by dating a famous woman.

Dan then sarcastically referred to an unnamed person on Twitter as “very mature” for commenting on him. And Kym also chimed in.

She wrote in her OK! column: “Dan was a bit upset and I was annoyed at Chantelle’s comments. It was an idiotic and pointless remark that was just put out there to hurt someone.

“All she has seen is pictures of us together. I hate it when someone pre-judges you when they have no idea of what you are about. I take it with a pinch of salt, but how could they do that to Dan? He’s so lovely! He’s so not about any of that!

“It makes me think she made the comment to get herself some column inches.”

The 37-year-old is certainly busy with Coronation Street at the moment and has teased that she will be involved in a major crash in the New Year.

She said: “There’s a mini-bus crash and I can exclusively reveal that my character Michelle Connor is heavily involved in the storyline. It’s so exciting being involved in such a dramatic storyline and having seen the scripts, I can guarantee you’ll be glued to your screens. I’d love to tell you more but I can’t.”

Kym is currently in the middle of a storyline highlighting the important issue of depression as her character Michelle Connor supports boyfriend Steve McDonald through the illness.

She said: “She has no idea that he’s suffering from depression. She’s tried and tried to talk to him, but he’s just shutting her out. She doesn’t know what to do for the best.”
