WHEN Kerry Katona moved to Wigan in 2013, she appeared to have received a warm welcome but her new neighbours down south are less friendly.
As the Atomic Kitten moved to her six-bedroomed home Crowborough, in East Sussex, residents have complained, saying she lowers the tone and brings bad luck.
Neighbours used social media to argue that the mum-of-five’s move will see property prices plummet and “lower the tone” of the area - also warning her that the area is famous for ghosts.
One wrote: “18 years in the area. ........ time to move?”, while another added: “Why us?”, and one said: “Property prices will fall dramatically.”
But determined to stick up for her mum, teenager Lilly McFadden also took to Twitter to defend her mum.
She posted:”Dear Crowborough, it’s Lilly here one of the newest locals, I’m excited to meet you all apart from a little hate going round. Please remember everyone who is hiding behind screens typing hurtful words you are not just slagging off my mum, but her children too!
“I would love to thank everyone else in my new village for standing up for us all. So excited to meet you all and know that once you know us and my mum we’ll all get on.”
After seeing the reacting to her move Kerry posted a tweet, writing: “Would like to say a big hello and a big thank you to all the lovely people in my new town for such a warm welcome.”
Kerry lived in Haigh in 2013, before she moved back down south.
