IT is officially over for former lovebirds Kym Marsh and Dan Hooper.
The couple took a ‘break’ a few weeks ago, following a string of rows and increasing pressure, but despite of Kym’s hopes for a reunion, they have decided to call it a day.
I said I was hoping things would sort themselves out, but it doesn’t feel like we can fix things or get back on track so we’ve decided to go our separate waysKym Marsh
The Ashton actress wrote in her OK! column: “I’m very sad to tell you that Dan and I have split up.
“I said I was hoping things would sort themselves out, but for one reason for another, it doesn’t feel like we can fix things or get back on track so we’ve decided to go our separate ways.
“Dan’s a fantastic and lovely guy and I’ve never been happier than when things were working with us, but sometimes things just don’t feel right no matter how much you want it to.
“I know some people will say we rushed in too quickly and that things got too serious too fast, but I think you have to follow your heart and I have no regrets.
“I’m sure Dan and I will keep in touch - he’s been a hugely positive influence, not only in my life, but David, Emilie and Polly’s lives too and I know they will also keep in touch with him.”
Dan changed his Twitter profile removing the mention of Kym as “the most amazing girl in the world” from his biography, and swapping his coupley picture to a solo shot. It has also been reported that he has unfollowed Kym from Twitter.
Meanwhile, just a week after a fake Facebook profile was set up indicating her niece Kim had died, she was subject to another cruel Twitter joke.
She said: “Another weirdo sent me a picture on Twitter of a guy, along with a message saying it was his late uncle Derek who really loved me on Corrie and asked me to retweet his message. I did, with the message, ‘Ah bless.’
“Later I was told I had been tricked and it was a picture of Derrick Bird, who killed lots of people in Cumbria in 2010. Of course I removed it and apologised if I offended anyone.
“Social media is horrendous sometimes and sadly we can’t always vet everything.”
It was also an emotional week as she attended late Coronation Street actress Anne Kirkbride’s memorial at Manchester Cathedral.
