KYM Marsh has revealed that her sister had a hysterectomy after she feared she had cancer.
The former Ashton resident said in her OK! column: “My sister, Tracey, had to have one a few years ago as doctors found a tumour they thought was cancerous. It turned out to be a benign tumour that had grown on the back of her appendix scar, but they didn’t know that until they’d removed everything.

“Tracey had no plans to have any more children but she struggled with knowing that the option had been taken away from her and I feel the same. As a woman, it’s hard to come to terms with the fact that your ability to carry a child is over.”
Kym was offered a hysterectomy in 2013 after severe health problems, but instead she had an ablation of the womb, which removed the lining of her womb. She added: “I struggled, but I’m lucky I’ve had kids of my own so I count my blessings.”
Meanwhile, Kym is relishing the prospect of having two weddings in one year.
The former Ashton actress can’t wait to film scenes in Coronation Street as her character Michelle Connor marries Steve McDonald - and is planning her own nuptials off-screen to fiance Dan Hooper.
Sources close to Kym say she wants a Christmas wedding, either in the Maldives or Dubai.
Kym has also been busy celebrating her daughter, Polly’s fourth birthday, which included a Frozen princess visit and a party bus. She also helped to organise her dad, Dave’s surprise 70th at a golf club near his home in Warrington.
