KYM Marsh has officially filed for divorce from estranged husband Jamie Lomas.
The Ashton actress reportedly started legal proceedings last week, saying she believes there is no way back for the couple, and started proceedings last week.
It has been reported that she has cited his unreasonable behaviour for the breakdown of their one-year marriage – despite her alleged cheating with fellow Coronation Street actor Oliver Mellor.
A source close to the Corrie star said: “Kym has turned a corner and is now ready to move on.
“Kym desperately tried to make the marriage work for the sake of their daughter but it’s become obvious that things can’t continue.
“She wants what’s best for her kids. Obviously she is gutted but she is relieved that a line has been drawn under things after a difficult few weeks.
“Kym is trying to stay as strong as she can for the sake of her kids.
“It’s a devastating time for her but she’s told pals she’s determined to get through it.”
“But she doesn’t want a messy divorce – it must be as quick and as amicable as possible.”
The couple have a two-year-old daughter, Polly, and Kym has a son David, 18, and daughter Emily, 15, from a previous relationship.
Jamie has moved out of their marital home, in Worsley, and is living in London, where he is filming EastEnders.
A source said Jamie does not want to seek a reconciliation and there have been a lot of angry texts and phone calls between the two.
But they were planning to meet in Manchester to discuss arrangements for Jamie to see their daughter Polly,
Meanwhile, as Jamie moves down south, another former Wigan resident who is now in nearby Surrey, is missing her norther roots,
Kerry Katona relocated from her lavish mansion in Haigh several weeks ago, but she is reported to be homesick, missing the simple northern life, as well as her mum, Sue.
A source told Star magazine: “Kerry knows Surrey is a better base for her work-wise, but she thinks Wigan is much more down to earth.
“She’s wondering if she made a massive mistake.”
The 33-year-old, who is nearly five months pregnant, is living with her fiance, George Kay, and children, Molly, 12, Lilly-Sue, 10, Heidi, six, and Max, five.
