RUMOURS that Kym Marsh will be playing opposite her fiance have been scotched.
This week there has been media reports that the former Hollyoaks hunk is to star as Carla Connor’s brother in Coronation Street, but a spokesman from the ITV soap denied the fact.
Producers are still auditioning for the role and no-one has yet been cast.
On the right side of Weatherfield, Kym, from Ashton, said that she would like her character Michelle Connor to enjoy a romance with a younger man.
The actress, who has been on the cobbles for six years, told OK Extra: “I’d like her to have a toyboy! That would be really funny, as she’s quite moral. I’d like to see her doing something a little bit daring and risqué.
“Little Harry Styles could play the toyboy - he’s so cute! My daughter’s got a big crush on him.”
Meanwhile, Kym has spoken of her approval of new Saturday night talent show, The Voice, on BBC One.
She said: “I love the concept.
“I think the emphasis can be too much on the overall package rather than the actual voice.”
Speaking of her days in Popstars, where she was criticised for her weight, Kym added she was pleased looks are not as important any more.
She said: “There was a time when all the pop stars would be really skinny, wearing size four dresses, but we are not seeing that as much now. People seem to be more open minded to normal size girls.”
