A WIGAN photographer has marked a decade in the trade by launching her own studio.
Michelle Charnock’s business has opened in Mesnes Street with a showcase of her work.
The Hindley 33-year-old, who has previously worked for Boohoo.com and also at a studio in Warrington, said: “It has always been my dream to set up my own business and it is passion and dedication that’s led to a decade of being able to do the job I love.
“As a small child I was always interested in the photographic image and my favourite subject was art.
“Then, from my days at Wigan College, I was inspired to make a career from photography.
“I’ve been very lucky to work with such great photographers through my training and it was the excellent skills and lessons learnt in Wigan that has carried me though my career so far.
“I very much wanted to mark 10 years in the industry by going back to my roots and giving something back to the community which I grew up in and was inspired by.
“I love photography and capturing unique moments from babies and families.
“Creating perfect memories from weddings and special occasion, and also getting creative in the studio or on location with fashion photography.
“To be able to do what I love on a daily basis and have an amazing career makes me so happy and I cherish every day.“
Michelle, who studied photographic art at the University of Wales, was named in the top 10 photographers at Manchester Fashion Network in 2011.
She is also an active campaigner for Joining Jack and regularly donates to the charity through her photography work.
In addition to this, Michelle has also recently taken part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and last year completed the JJ100 cycle ride for Joining Jack.
