Mobile fun for youngsters

A NEW school holidays season of thrills and spills has arrived in Standish ... with rising hopes of making it a permanent attraction.

For the fourth year in succession a mobile skate and BMX park will set up at St Marie’s Primary School car park on Avondale Road and will be open to all.

The ramps, jumps and half-pipes will be open from noon to 3pm on Wednesdays August 14, 21 and 28. The first session was held this week.

All sessions will be professionally supervised by staff from Ramp Riders and their will be some skates, bikes and protective gear available for those without them.

Again the visit has been funded by Standish Independent councillor George Fairhurst from the ward’s Brighter Borough allowance. As a driving force behind the Standish For Youth community organisation, he is hoping to fill a gap in young people’s facilities and asking more parents to become involved and help to make the Ramp Riders season an even greater success.
