IT’S not unusual for a nearby watering hole to be a “second home” for a Wigan singer.
Tom Jones impersonator David Kidd says he loves nothing more than his regular gigs at his favourite pub, The Greyhound, on the East Lancashire Road in Leigh.
This is after years of the 47-year-old, who appeared on this years series of BBC’s The Voice, performing and socialising there.
He said: “I find it to be one of the most homely and intriguing pubs I have every been in.
“It is owned by a good friend of mine and so I am welcomed very warmly each time I go. It’s like my second home.
“I go there as many times as I can and it was one of the places where I started my singing career.
“The best thing about it is that I enjoy the atmosphere and I know all of the regulars, it is one of the places where I feel most comfortable.
“I wouldn’t have had the confidence that I do now if it wasn’t for all of my friends there who supported and encouraged me.
“It’s just a great, family, fun pub which holds a lot of wonderful memories for both myself and my family.”
