Oxygen Freejumping, one of the UK’s largest operators of the increasingly-popular leisure venues, opens the doors of its new park at the Soccerdome on Friday.

The 33,000sq ft trampoline park, near the DW Stadium, is one of several similar attractions to open in the last couple of years, and will be launched in style with exhibitions of trampolining gymnastics and acrobatic parkour free-running.

To get people in the mood, Oxygen Freejumping supporter Sebastien Foucan, who has appeared in James Bond films, visited Market Place in the town centre for a spectacular pre-launch event.

Oxygen Freejumping CEO David Stalker said: “We are so excited to launch our new Oxygen Freejumping park in Wigan. The town is renowned for its sporting prowess and we’re looking to create some freejumping stars: we suspect Wigan has some.

“We hope to inspire a new generation of jumpers to get fit with a smile on their face. We can’t wait to see you all there, just remember, all you need to get started is a pair of our striking yellow jump socks and a burst of energy!”

The Soccerdome park will start offering all-ages access to the trampoline, kids parties and special sessions for under fives. Future plans include an academy bearing Sebastien’s name, dodgeball tournaments, fitness classes, DJ nights and trampolining lessons.
