A WIGAN woman is to front a national ad campaign which highlights “real women”.
Becky Davenport, from Newtown, has been unveiled as one of 12 ladies selected from thousands across the UK and Ireland to appear in Ultimo’s third “Original real women” campaign.
The 28-year-old won her place to appear in the big-budget fashion shoot after applying via social networking site Twitter.
Ultimo, the UK’s leading designer lingerie brand best known for its high-profile celebrity ambassadors such as Luisana Lopilato, Mel B and Sarah Harding, launched a search earlier this year after the success of the previous two campaigns.
And Becky was selected to be the only woman from the region to appear in it and is pictured modelling “Black Widow’” from Ultimo’s new collection.
The pictures will be splashed across Debenhams stores across the UK, including Wigan’s Grand Arcade branch, and be featured in a double page spread in Celebs on Sunday magazine read by more than a million people weekly.
Becky said; “Applying was a spur of the moment thing. I follow Michelle Mone on twitter and saw it, thought it sounded good and then went for it.
“I’m so glad I did it, one of my friends is a plus size model so she told me to go for it, she reassured me it would be fine.
“My family are really excited for me, my mum has told my dad he has to go into Debenhams and take a picture – he isn’t happy about that!”
During the shoot, mum-of-one Becky found out some rather exciting news.
Proud mum to one-year-old Isla, she discovered she was pregnant with her second child.
She added: “It’s great and my husband and I are so excited. He’s really proud to have a model wife too, it’s going to be great seeing myself in the adverts.”
