LEIGH personal trainer Matt Baker found himself on the wrong side of Jamie Lomas as the EastEnders star allegedly punched him in a nightclub.
It has been reported that the 33-year-old actor blind-sighted Matt in Panacea, in Manchester, last weekend and hit him in the face,
The 24-year-old, who had been dating Jamie’s ex-wife, Kym Marsh for more than six weeks, was said to have then gone upstairs in the bar to diffuse the situation.
The matter is allegedly being reported by the police.
Both parties declined to comment, but a police spokesman said: “A male reported an assault at Panacea at 1.30am. He reported it to the police at 11.30am. An appointment is being made to speak to him to give an account.”
Matt, who attended Winstanley College, had got close to the Coronation Street actress last spring after the star starting training with him.
Kym split from her husband, Jamie Lomas, in October and they had been exchanging flirty texts, as he had been her shoulder to cry on.
The pair became official after they posted a snap of themselves in Paris over the Valentine’s weekend.
But Kym ended the relationship, claiming she was not ready for anything serious, leaving Matt gutted.
Kym and Jamie, who have a daughter Polly, two, divorced in January after claims she had an affair with
Corrie co-star Oliver Mellor, 32.
Jamie, who also has a son Billy from a previous relationship, said: “My children are the most important people in my life.”
It was announced last week he is leaving the BBC soap and he only has a few days of filming left before his contract is officially up in mid-June.
Meanwhile Kym has kept quiet about her love life on Twitter, but has been busy with other engagements.
She appeared on the final episode of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway last weekend, helping out on the Ant v Dec challenge.
The Ashton actress also went to the Justin Timberlake concert earlier in the week and is gearing up to watch her appearance on The Cube tonight on ITV, from 9pm, where she raises money for CarrieOn Fighting, a charity which supports 10-year-old Carrie Ann North, of Golborne who has MD.
The 37-year-old is the ambassador for the charity.
