FORMER Coronation Street actress Sacha Parkinson cannot wait for viewers to see her in her latest role.
Sacha, who hails from Tyldesley, has filmed scenes for the second series of Mad Fat Diary, which will be shown next month on E4.
The British comedy series follows the story of 16-year-old, 231 pound girl, Rae, who has just left a psychiatric hospital, where she has spent four months, and tries to reconnect with her friends.
The show’s twitter account made a reference to her character’s obsolete headwear, posting: “Fully expect scrunchies to make a comeback when you see @SachaLParkinson in series 2.”
The 21-year-old has also started filming a new BBC One drama - The Driver, with David Morrissey.
She will play Katie, the daughter of taxi driver Vince McKee in the three part thriller.
The drama has begun filming in and around Manchester this week, including at sites in the Northern Quarter and on St Ann’s Square.
It sees Vince blame himself for a family crisis and, driven by guilt, accepts an offer to start driving for a criminal gang.
It will be shown on BBC One later this year.
